Global Status of CCS 2022 Report Released

On October 17, the Institute released the Global Status of CCS 2022 Report, which unvieled that there are over 190 CCS facilities in various stages of development. 


The flagship report provides detailed analyses of the global project pipeline, international policy, carbon markets, carbon removals, and the evolution of storage. It also highlights CCS development across North America, Asia Pacific, Europe and the UK, and the MENA region.

Global CCS Institute Europe Forum

We are excited to host the Global CCS Institute Europe Forum on 2 November, 2022 in London, UK. This in-person event will offer an opportunity to explore the status, and prospect, of CCS in Europe and the UK, and discuss how CCS can support Europe's decarbonisation pathways to meet international climate targets. The Europe Forum will be preceded by an in-person Europe Members' Meeting.

The 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Global CCS Institute will be held on Thursday 27, October 2022 at 8:00 am (AEST). The AGM will take place online via Video Conference and all members of the Institute are invited to attend.

The Post-Inflation Reduction Act 45Q Tax Credit: Maximizing and Monetizing 45Q

The enacted Inflation Reduction Act includes critical provisions for enhancing IRS Section 45Q. Join us on October 28, as we explore how the enhancements will incentivize CCS deployment. The event will feature a panel of experts specialising in credit-maximizing structures, CCS project development, finance structuring, and regulatory analyses.

Japan CCS Forum 2022

On 1 December, the Global CCS Institute will be hosting the Japan CCS Forum 2022 in Tokyo and online. In this year's event, we will focus on the roles of finance and incentives in accelerating the commercial deployment of CCS.

John Scowcroft as Distinguished Fellow of the Institute

John Scowcroft has been posthumously honoured as a Distinguished Fellow of the Global CCS Institute. John worked for the Institute since January 2012 and undertook several roles throughout the years, including General Manager and International Climate Negotiations Adviser. John was a recognised expert in CCS policies, with a strong reputation in the EU and UK, and his legacy in CCS will continue to have an impact in the years to come.
